"Courage" Anne Sexton

I think the poem that appeals to me to the most would be Courage by Anne Sexton, because she talks more about people growing up, from early childhood to adult hood and even death. She just gives more of an explenation then Rudyayrd Kippling did in his poem "If". She speaks more of how to grow up and come to realization's in life and that things are not always going to be easy, and that we have to fight through the tough times and not be heart broken or feel sorrow, but to be happy and think of the things to come and put on out comfortable shoes and walk to peace.

Who do you think is the main hero of this story?

In my opinion, Christy Brown is the real hero of this story. I believe that because he has been through so much trials,pain and afflictions in his lifetime. Growing up would be the toughest part for Christy, not being able to do any of the fun things that his brothers and sisters were doing would be very difficult. I think again, that his mother is another hero in this short story because she had to go through just as much as Christy had to go through because she had to be with him every step of the way. Christy Brown is a good motivational person to look up to, because of what he suffered, that is why I think that he is the hero of the short story.
